One of your character's storylines last season involved a rape victim and there is a magazine headline from Time, I don't know if we have it, but it said: TIME The Pitt's Rape Kit Storyline Is a Quietly Revolutionary Depiction of Sexual Assault. The Pitt's rape kit storyline is a quietly revolutionary depiction of sexual assault. I just thought that was incredible. What's your approach to navigating these very difficult, thorny, complicated, emotional situations that real people experience in real life? It's funny, when you talk to nurses, they don't think about their emotions the way actors do. So, you can't say to the nurse, how does it feel for you to take what feelings or emotions? I actually just do a lot of background work. And I went to the Rape Treatment Center in Santa Monica, part of UCLA Health, and they walked me through the rape kit. But I had gone and visited them before. And when I would ask them, well, how do you do this or how do you do that? They would say, Oh, well, you would never touch the victim because of this, that way because of that— You would always cover them like this. So then, when they were showing me how they did it, then I really got, you know, the feelings and what was going on with them. So, I was so impressed with the Rape Treatment Center that I— and the nurses there— that I really just tried to portray them. So, it's really just a portrait of what I witnessed.
