Now, it didn't take long for people to put together that Myles Murphy is the son of Eddie Murphy. He's one of his 10 kids. And Myles has recently launched a stand-up career of his own. He's only been doing it for about 11 months and mostly in LA. Now, sources said that he did really well, and after his set, he was backstage with a number of veteran comedians who told him some anecdotes about his dad that he didn't even know. One of them was Jeffrey Gurian, who's a stand-up comic, author, comedy chronicler and former dentist, who told Myles about how Joe Piscopo gave up doing 5 minutes live on "SNL" back in the day and gave the spot to Eddie Murphy and made his career. And how Eddie Murphy went from making $750 a week to $3,000 a week and became a star of the show rather than a featured player. Now, when Jeffrey was driving home, as luck would have it, he heard his old friend Piscopo on the radio. He does a Frank Sinatra show on WABC in New York, and he was broadcasting live from a nearby jazz club. So Gurian headed over there, jumped on the mic with Joe, and then recounted his tale about Myles' set and meeting Murphy's son.
