Weak legs making it hard to get up and down? Do this at home. Weak legs making it hard to get up and down? Do this at home. Hi, I'm Ryan. I help seniors get stronger and move better from home. So if you want more content like this, make sure you follow me. And if weak legs are making everyday tasks harder, comment "LEGS" so I know that this is for you. The single best exercise that you can do to build leg strength and make getting up and down easier is the squat. But here's the problem. Most people can't even do a full squat safely on their own. Either their legs are too weak or their balance just isn't great, or they're scared that they won't be able to get back up. So that's where this assisted squat comes in. By attaching a resistance tube to the top of your door, you get support coming out of the bottom of the squat, which makes it safe and accessible and something anyone can do regardless of their current strength level. And as you get stronger, you rely on the tube less. It's progressive. Here's how to set it up. Attach your resistance tube to the top of your door using a door anchor. Then put the tube through and attach your handles. Hold the handles with both hands, arms straight out in front of you. Stand far back enough that there's tension in the tube and squat down. Chest up, weight in your heels, knees tracking over your toes. Go as low as you can comfortably go. At the bottom, let the tube help pull you back up. That's the assistance part. It takes the pressure off your legs and makes the movement safe. Do eight to 10 repetitions, rest and then repeat for two or three sets. Now, as you get stronger, step closer to the door so there's less assistance or use a weaker tube. So that's how you build leg strength at home and make getting up and down easier with no gym and no heavy weights. Just a resistance tube and a door. Now comment "LEGS" again if this was helpful and you're gonna try it and share this with someone whose legs have been feeling weak. This could change their life.
