This one is hard for me to post. I was three months postpartum. My baby had only been home from the NICU for two months, and I had just learned that the person I was trying to build a family with had been cheating on me throughout my pregnancy and while our son was in the hospital. I was devastated. But somehow, if I wanted our family to work, I was expected to get over it. I could stay… as long as I didn’t talk about what happened. As long as I didn’t ask questions. As long as I didn’t have feelings about it. And when I did, moments like this happened. Watching this back now is difficult because this was when I knew things were escalating. I’m sharing it because someone else may be living in the stage where they’re still asking themselves: Am I too emotional? Am I making things worse? Should I just let it go? I asked myself those questions too. This is why I kept the receipts. If you’re learning to recognize the patterns you once explained away, follow along. We’re going to read them differently. 🧾🚩 #EmotionalAbuse #CoerciveControl #AbuseAwareness #Postpartum #postseparationabuse
