Artist and choreographer Chiara Bartl-Salvi creates performances combining contemporary dance, sound and interventions in public space. In her latest work, Heat Island, she performs with specially designed tap shoes created by artist Patrick Winkler. As the metal shoes strike and scrape against the ground, they produce real sparks, directly connecting what the audience sees with what they hear. The choreography turns walking, sliding and dancing into a physical interaction with the urban surface. Instead of treating the city as a simple background, Bartl-Salvi makes concrete, friction, sound and light part of the performance. #art #artist #niche #weird #avantgarde
