There are 5 levels of sales. Most salespeople THINK they’re further along than they actually are. And your level has almost nothing to do with how long you’ve been selling. It’s how you communicate. How you handle pressure. How well you understand people. And whether you’re trying to “close” someone… or helping them make a decision. So be honest: 👇 What level are you right now — 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5? And what level are you trying to get to? Drop your number in the comments. I want to see where ever Level 1 is the talker. They think sales is about being charismatic. They talk fast, they know the product, they have an answer for everything. And they think the more they talk, the more likely you are to buy. Level 2 is the presenter. They're a little bit better. They've learned the pitch, they know the features, the benefits, and the testimonials. The problem with the level 2 presenter is that they're still basically giving the same presentation to everybody. Level 3 is the questioner. This is where you're actually starting to get good. At this level, you stop thinking what I need to say next and start thinking in terms of what do I need to understand next. Level 4 is where the money is. The diagnostic salesperson. They don't just ask questions to ask questions. They understand why they're asking them. They're looking for the problem underneath the problem. Why now? What has changed? What is this actually costing you? What happens if you don't fix it? And then there's level 5, the leader salesperson. This salesperson can diagnose the problem, but they're also willing to tell the truth. It's challenging thinking to making somebody... It's challenging thinking to making somebody... And they'll even tell somebody it's not the right solution. They don't need the commission more than they need the truth. Talking gets you into sales. Presenting might make you decent. You. Questions makes you good. Diagnosis dangerous. Customer. You trust you enough to let you lead them. That's when you've mastered sales.
