You don’t need to know everything, but being comfortable with basic troubleshooting, networking, Windows, hardware, and actually explaining technical problems will put you in a much better spot for an entry-level role. A lot of these fundamentals also show up on the CompTIA A+. I’ve been building ExamWizardz.app to give my students another way to practice those concepts and figure out where they still need work before taking the exam.
