Riverfire 2026 lit up the Brisbane River last night, and the scale of what goes into 20 minutes of fireworks is worth appreciating. Foti Fireworks Queensland delivered Queensland's largest fireworks display from 13 separate firing locations: six water-based barges, the Story Bridge, the Goodwill Bridge, and five CBD rooftops including The Star Brisbane. For the first time in several years, an additional barge was positioned at South Bank, bringing the show closer to one of the busiest viewing precincts in the city. 🎆 A crew of more than 30 staff positioned across the city Seven new effects premiered in Brisbane before anywhere else, including cascade aerial shells, white strobe waterfall shells, gold palm shells with colour tipped effects, and new colour pistil shells in magenta with peach and orange with violet. 2026 marks 21 years of Foti delivering Riverfire. Add the RAAF flyovers, up to half a million people along the riverbanks, and a city skyline that does most of the heavy lifting on its own, and it remains one of the best free public events in the country.
