Hey, this is what’s been working for me for the last four years after bariatric surgery. You do you, boo. 👻 But if your food noise is through the fucking roof and you feel like you’re constantly thinking about what you’re going to eat next, these are 12 foods I stopped keeping around or started looking at VERY differently. 1. Flavored coffee creamer. It's basically dessert in your coffee, but nobody counts it because it's "just creamer." I stopped keeping it in the house years ago. 2. Granola. It gets marketed next to the oatmeal like it's healthy. Read the sugar count before you believe that. 3. Trail mix. You reach in for a handful and thirty minutes later the bag is half gone. It's designed to be eaten like that. 4. Movie theater popcorn. It's not about the popcorn, it's about the bucket. You eat until the bucket is empty, not until you're full. 5. Dinner rolls. Free bread at a restaurant is the easiest way to be full before your real meal even shows up. 6. Smoothie shop smoothies. It feels like a drink, but it can be more calories than a full meal, and I don't even chew it. 7. Grocery store protein muffins. Same as a regular muffin with a protein sticker slapped on the front. The bariatric industry loves that sticker. 8. Rice cakes. They feel light, so I used to eat five in a row without thinking about it. 9. Protein candy. If it's shaped like candy and tastes like candy, my brain treats it like candy, no matter what the label says. 10. Drive-thru "healthy" salads. Once you add the dressing, the cheese, and the crispy toppings, it's not the light meal the menu wants you to think it is. 11. Gas station snack packs. Crackers, cheese, a little candy bar, it's built to be finished in one sitting in the car. 12. Flavored yogurt with granola mixed in. Regular yogurt is fine. The second they add caramel bits and clusters, it's a dessert. #bariatricsurgery
