Jerry Sandusky's latest bid for a new trial is over... at least in Pennsylvania state court. The former Penn State assistant football coach withdrew his post-conviction appeal during a virtual court hearing Tuesday, ending an effort that centered on a key accuser's sworn claim that he was coached and coerced by investigators and prosecutors before Sandusky's 2012 trial. Prosecutors called the recantation "highly suspect." Sandusky, who has repeatedly maintained his innocence, is serving a 30-to-60-year prison sentence after his 2012 conviction on 45 counts of child sexual abuse.
