25 years ago on 9/11, heroes came on two legs and four. More than 300 search and rescue dogs climbed across mountains of debris and smoldering rubble at Ground Zero, working alongside first responders in the desperate search for survivors. Therapy dogs also arrived, providing comfort to exhausted and traumatized police officers and firefighters during the devastation. Today, we remember the four-legged heroes who answered the call.
