I grew up here in Irvine, California and I'm visiting for a few days and it takes leaving Irvine to realize what a peculiar place it is. And what I mean by that is I live in New York now, and about 15 years ago, after I graduated high school, I went to NYU, studied acting there. I'm an actor. And, uh, I lived in New York for a while, I lived in LA. For eight years, and now I live in New York again. And, uh, every time I come back to Irvine, I, I, I realise, like, what a safe, clean, uh, stable environment it was to grow up in. But it's just not reality. And, um, don't get me wrong, I'm, I'm grateful that I grew up in a frictionless environment. And growing up here, when I grew up, it was the safest city in America. And I never had to, like, worry about my safety. And, um, I had a great childhood and, and those types of things. But after living in places like New York and LA, I just can't deny that my world view radically expanded after leaving Irvine and getting to experience the diversity of humanity and socioeconomic diversity and, um, just a full scale understanding of the human experience that I would never have gotten if I hadn't left Irvine. And there's almost like a, like a suburban sadness here in a way, and it's really hard to describe. I mean, For people that that love it here and are comfortable, I understand it, I get it. But I think once you leave, you realize like it's such a interesting, unique place.
