Why it worked

The video evokes empathy by showing a kind gesture towards a vulnerable animal, highlighting the dog's comfort and the shelter's efforts to provide a better environment.

Summary

The video shows a person preparing a comfortable bed for a deaf dog named Aulani at the Maui Humane Society. The dog is later shown sleeping soundly in the new bed.

Structure

1Leaving for the night
2Noticing the dog on the floor
3Making a cozy bed
4Dog remains asleep
5Dog found her comfy spot
6Dog is waiting at Maui Humane Society

Product placement

Maui Humane Society: it is a place where Aulani is waiting, and removing it would change the video's context. It merely appears.

I was leaving for the night... When i saw Aulani curled up on her blanket and towel on the floor 😭 Poor girl was just trying to get comfy. So you know i had to do something about it... She's deaf so she didn't hear me come in. I made her up the coziest bed. With two layers of blankie. She didn't wake up the whole time. I made up her kuranda bed too. That way she can have options. I hoped that when she woke up she would see her room had been made for her. and that she doesn't have to lie on the cement. When i went to check on her later... She had found her new comfy spot. Aulani is waiting at Maui humane society.

Original caption

When i went back and saw her it looked like she had raked the top layer to make it a nest and i thought hallelujah there were two layers for her! She’s such a sweet girl and just adorable. I hope someone will scoop her up soon. She’s 8 years old and has been good with other dogs and small dogs. Shes friendly and deaf. Aulani is waiting at Maui humane society.
