BREAKING: Flights are being grounded at major airports across the Northeast after an equipment outage triggered widespread FAA ground stops. The FAA says Newark Liberty, JFK, LaGuardia, Teterboro, Philadelphia International and Westchester County airports have been impacted after an air traffic control facility lost its primary circuit and a break was discovered in a backup fiber optic cable. The fiber optic cable could take roughly 13 hours to repair as officials work to restore operations.
