Pregnant mama, your body may start giving you little clues as you get closer to meeting your baby. But remember: some of these signs can happen days or even weeks before labour actually begins. Here are some things to watch for 👇🏽 1️⃣ Your baby may “drop” lower 👶🏽 You may notice your belly sitting lower as the baby moves deeper into the pelvis. Breathing may feel easier, but you might need to pee even more! 😂 2️⃣ More pelvic pressure You may feel increased pressure in your pelvis, vagina or lower abdomen as the baby moves down. 3️⃣ Braxton Hicks contractions may increase 🤰🏽 These practice contractions can become more noticeable. Unlike true labour, they are usually irregular and don't consistently become stronger, longer and closer together. 4️⃣ Changes in vaginal discharge You may notice more discharge as your cervix begins changing. 5️⃣ You may lose your mucus plug 🫣 The mucus plug can come out as thick, sticky or jelly-like discharge, sometimes with a little blood. Losing it does not necessarily mean labour will start immediately. 6️⃣ “Bloody show” Pink, brown or blood-streaked mucus can happen as the cervix begins to open and thin. 7️⃣ Backache or period-like cramps Some women experience lower-back pain, pelvic pressure or cramps as labour approaches. 8️⃣ Loose stools or increased bowel movements 🚽 Some women notice changes in their bowel movements before labour, although this isn't a reliable sign on its own. 9️⃣ A sudden urge to prepare everything! 😂🧺 Some mamas experience a burst of energy or feel an intense need to clean, organize and prepare the baby's things. 🔟 True labour contractions ❤️ This is the big one! Labour contractions tend to become regular, stronger, longer and closer together, and they don't settle simply by changing position or resting. #fyp
