It turns out that chewing your food to applesauce consistency, regulating your nervous system, and not eating 3h before bed does in fact work to stop chronic reflux, GERD, LPR.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but the boring, unsexy reflux tools are the ones that actually work. No magic pill. Just a few consistent habits that change the conditions in your gut. In a randomized crossover study, people who ate close to bedtime had significantly more nighttime acid reflux than when they ate earlier (Piesman 2007, Am J Gastroenterol, PMID 17573791). None of these are flashy. Stacked together and done consistently, they change the conditions that let reflux happen. Small hinges swing big doors.
