Come switch out our letter of the week with me! This week we’re changing everything over to the letter G. In our main learning area, I switch our Environmental Print Alphabet, move to the next Alphabet Word Card in our pocket chart, and add our Handwriting Without Tears magnetic lines to show how the letter is formed. I also switch out our Meet the Letters card, Alphabet Motion Card, and High Five Letter Review. I re-record our recordable buttons with the new letter name and letter sound, then switch out our letter trays with new hands-on activities for the week. Changing these activities each week keeps the center fresh and gives students new ways to explore and practice the letter. Because this is a free choice center, I also keep at least two recordable buttons on the table. Students can press them anytime they need a reminder of the letter name or sound, giving them a little extra support while still allowing them to explore independently.
