Let this be your sign to make Halloween cookies 👻🍪 These spider & mummy cookies are SO easy to make and I’m obsessed with how cute they turned out! I’ve used my go to cookie base and then given them a little Halloween makeover 🕷️ SPIDER & MUMMY COOKIES
Makes approx. 10 Ingredients:
125g salted butter softened but not melted
100g light brown sugar
75g caster sugar
250g plain flour
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 egg yolks
Approx. 200g milk & white chocolate chunks (or whatever chocolate/toppings you fancy!) To decorate:
Milk chocolate
White chocolate
Maltesers
Edible eyes Method: 1. Cream together the butter (make sure it’s soft), light brown sugar and caster sugar until combined. 2. Add the egg yolks, followed by the plain flour, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda, and mix until you have a cookie dough. 3. Fold through your chocolate chunks, then divide the mixture into 9 or 10 balls and place onto a lined baking tray. 4. Bake at 170°C fan for around 11–15 minutes. Mine are usually perfect at around 11 minutes – you want the edges to just be starting to crack. 5. Once they’re out of the oven, give the tray a little drop from a few centimetres to help the cookies settle, then leave them on the tray to cool completely. 6. For the spiders: Melt some milk chocolate in a zip-lock bag. Use a little melted chocolate to stick the Maltesers onto the cookies, then snip a tiny corner off the bag and pipe on the spider legs. Dip the edible eyes into a little melted chocolate and stick them onto the front. 7. For the mummies: Melt some white chocolate in a zip-lock bag, snip off a tiny corner and drizzle it backwards and forwards over the cookies in a criss cross pattern. Finish with two edible eyes. Save these for your Halloween baking because they’re so simple but SO cute 🎃👻 And remember you can use this cookie base with whatever chocolate or toppings you fancy! #halloweenfood #halloweensnacks #halloweencookies #halloweenwithkids #halloweenparty
