DHS is responding to Zohran Mamdani's demand that ICE release the criminal migrant shot by the agency during an arrest in the Bronx. Mamdani declared that "ICE is rotten to its core," while NY Gov. Kathy Hochul demanded that federal officials release body camera footage of the incident. But DHS says the wounded man has a prior grand larceny conviction, multiple arrests, and alleged ties to the Trinitarios gang. The department also calling out liberal policies for creating unsafe environments, "When dangerous illegal aliens are released back onto the streets by radical sanctuary politicians, our officers are forced to make arrests at large in the community in unpredictable and dangerous environments."
