HISTORIC FIRST: The U.S. Navy celebrated its birthday with a major milestone as the future USS John F. Kennedy recorded the first-ever F-35C Lightning II landing aboard a Ford-class aircraft carrier. The historic arrested landing was carried out by an F-35C from the "Salty Dogs" of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 23, marking a fleet first for the Navy's Ford-class carriers and giving the service another reason to celebrate its birthday.
