#stitch with @marxism-lesbianism-maoism i have so many thoughts on this phenomenon as someone who has experienced it while dating women and been alienated for not participating in it while dating men. so many women affirm their gender under heteropatriarchy via their relationships with men. when you don't subscribe to that, they don't know what to do with you, and they enter a sort of "panic mode" where you are an exotic commodity, not a woman. it's as if, to them, your gender becomes "lesbian," even if you're bisexual, like in my experience. they can't fathom an experience of womanhood that doesn't revolve around 1. looking as feminine as possible next to 2. a man. #relationships #dating #bisexual #feminist feminism, dating, relationships, womanhood, heteropatriarchy
