Does Egg Tempera Paintings Smell? Although Leaving Paint on my desk overnight... What the fuck? All right, so I've been getting a lot of questions if egg tempera smells and it actually doesn't once it's painted. Um but as my video kind of showed is that when I leave leftover paint overnight, it does smell and it smells really bad. So egg tempera has to be made daily, almost daily. I put my paint in the fridge, um and I can get another day out of it, but you have to constantly be making egg tempera paint to continue painting. So I hope that answers some questions. And if you have any more, comment and I'll do my best to answer them.
