Why paint with eggs you may ask? Well, painting with eggs has been around since the 1500s. It's actually, it's called egg tempera and it was the primary easel painting technique before oil painting was invented. It's a very unique medium that not a lot of people know about today. So what makes it so unique? Well, egg tempera is a very luminous paint. The, the paintings almost look like they have a glow with them that you can't really achieve with other mediums. But probably the most craziest fact about egg tempera is that you cannot blend with this medium. So to get the illusion of blending, you have to do hundreds if not thousands of tiny little strokes using cross hatching. I don't know why I did focus. Um, to make it look like it blends when this paint actually doesn't blend. And the reason why it doesn't blend is because egg tempera dries incredibly fast. Once you put a stroke down, boom, it's already dry. Overall, egg tempera is a, a very fun and easy paint to make. It's so different than any other medium out there.
