This SaaS company 10x'd revenue YoY in the last 12 months and quickly became the hot girl in town in the start-up space. Clay is a data and workflow automation tool that has over 30,000 customers including users from companies like Intercom, Notion and ramp. It's kinda like if Zapier, ChatGPT and all your favourite B2B data tools had a baby. A lot of Clay's growth over the last 12 months has come from a growth loop that's facilitated by UGC where users can easily sign up to the platform, quickly realise it's value and then post content that attracts new users and this cycle repeats again and again pushing new customers through the loop. And why this works so well is because a big chunk of Clay's customers are freelancers and agencies that offer cold outbound services. They post content about Clay to show off their expertise and attract inbound clients while Clay benefits from the organic exposure and Clay has done a good job of doubling down on this by releasing their creator program which rewards those who post content with affiliate bonuses while also pumping ad spend behind their content so the creators get more exposure. So let's say you're a freelancer or agency that offers cold outbound, you can post about your Clay expertise to get more inbound clients, earn affiliate commission and grow your audience which is just a no brainer for everyone involved. This week I'm writing an in depth write up on Clay's growth so you can replicate it for your own startup. You can access my user through the link in my bio and if you'd like to try Clay for yourself I'll leave a link in the comments so you can sign up for a free trial.
