Because you figured the consequences of failing at something that you don't really care about, failing at something that you did, are much, much higher. You've condemned yourself to a life without drive, without passion, without struggle, without the gift of caring about the consequences. That deep sense of fear that we all feel when we're doing something that we care about, what makes any of this worth it?
