I spent a lot of time asking myself, what makes a good brand? To find the answer to this question, I've been researching some of the biggest brands in the world. So why do people buy from these brands? It's not because they have the best burgers, trust me, or because they make the best laptops. And usually, their products aren't even that much different. And sometimes, it's literally just water in a can. Yep, definitely just water. People buy from these brands because of community and identity. Take Stanley, for example. They're in one of the most crowded and commoditized markets. They 10x their revenue in just four years after releasing their ultra-popular quencher. And it's not because they keep our water two times colder than their competitors. But their customers aren't buying a water bottle. They're buying access into a community of other women who own Stanleys. And consumer brands have mastered this. But let's be real, most B2B brands suck. So I'm being extra intentional during this process of developing my brand. I also want to prove you don't need a million dollars to bring a brand to life. So I'll be documenting my journey of building this brand in public with you all. So stay tuned for the next episode.
