hey engineers, how long would it take to make this spec? hmm, maybe like one sprint, nothing looks that complicated. okay awesome, and by the way I just want that text black instead of blue, if that's okay. you want black text? yeah, is that a problem? well, it's not a problem necessarily, but my estimate is now one year. one year for black text? why? if you really wanna know, listen up. here is the story, one of our founding engineers was really into blue and so he wrote all of the text in this framework called Blue Daba Dee and basically all of our text has to be blue. now everything is blue for him. are you joking? I really wish we were joking, but yeah every single text element is hard coded to be blue and changing that would basically be as rewriting the entire framework. that sounds excessive, can we just override it somewhere? sure, yeah, we could try to override it, but then we'd probably end up with the Blue Screen of death. the Blue Screen of death, isn't that a Windows thing? normally yes, but our version triggers when non blue text is detected and then it forces everything to be blue inside and outside. okay, what if we just wrap the text with like a new class or something? we tried that once and it really didn't work, everything we see is just blue. we ended up with blue buttons, blue notifications, blue house with the blue windows. okay, you know what, blue text is fine. I guess we're all a little guy who lives in a blue world. good choice by the way, any other changes that we should be aware of? no, it's fine, I'll just stick with blue. I've got nobody to listen. awesome, we'll have this ready in one sprint then.
