I'm quitting my job in private equity to start a yogurt company with my best friend. Emphasis on the currently quitting because it hasn't happened yet. Against everyone's better judgment, I told them in August and won't be leaving until January. You did the math right, that's about 6 months. Six more months of me avoiding blow drying my hair by doing this in the elevator and being told by every senior member of the team that no one ever, we mean no one ever, left private equity to start a yogurt company. Well I guess I'll be the first. And you bet that Siggi's will soon be our yogurt. Now watch me pretend for the next few months that the things I'm doing are actually interesting. Okay but this actually was. Because of TikTok we've been able to meet a lot of other founders in this space who have really cool stories and who have really cool dreams. But also while my two feet are still where I am and whenever I get frustrated when I think about the people here who might think I'm crazy for starting a yogurt company, I remember we all have our own dreams, our own motivation, even the unique things that make us giggle. Not one is necessarily better than another, but you do really need to quiet the noise to find that one for yourself. So if you take anything away from this at all, don't let the voice of others dictate what your dreams could look like and do bring back coconut water for your sister from the office.
