Building Hotel Perle | ep 001 This series covers the story behind the concept, design, and development of the Hotel Perle New epsiodes Mondays at 7pm EST Before we chose materials, colors, or even a name - we started with research. Our architects at Rome Office uncovered that this stretch of St. Charles Ave was once known as Auto Row - home to some of the country’s first Model T dealerships. The building itself operated as a hotel from 1916 through the mid-80s. Old photographs, material notes, and archived documents revealed details that shaped our earliest creative decisions - from brass hardware to walnut furniture to the streetcar palette that would define the brand. This became the first corner of what would become our four-pillar creative framework - starting with history as the anchor.
