I use ChatGPT and this vintage poster as inspiration to create the graphics for my new website. It started with my creative brief where the direction was defined, and I used AI to help me hunt for references that match that direction. And I like this style of poster because it had different layers that could be combined in different ways. I then worked with AI to come up with the concept for each graphic. What images would represent the point I wanted to make? I even used it to create final versions of the asset to see how things could be laid out. But ultimately I ended up going one layer at a time and combining everything myself in Figma. This reduces the variables within tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney. This micro focus gives you more control when producing with AI. And then it also gives you the freedom to combine things in your own way. In simple tools like Figma. That's how I move from creative brief to references to stealing like an artist, to different iterations and experimentation to end up in my own final product. You can see these graphics on the DRAPER website. If you want to see how I build DRAPER and how I use AI to do so, follow me here.
