It is coming up to two years since I moved to Sydney. Here is some of my best advice - THE RENTAL CRISIS EDITION. As you will find somewhere to live. Subletting if you don't want the expense of furnishing a flat or tying yourself into a lease, you need to go on Facebook groups like Irish around Sydney, Bondi Local Loop, reach out to people, go for a viewing. It's also a really good way of working out if that's actually where you wanna live and also a really good way of making friends. Second option is leasing. Now I know we've all seen the crazy queues for leasing in Sydney in summer. You will find somewhere, but make sure your real estate application is completely full and you're ready to apply the moment you view it. You need to check out real estate, Domain, keep an eye on the new listings, go to the ones that have recently been added and just persevere with it. You will find somewhere, it just takes a little bit of time. Timing is also everything so if you wanna avoid the hassle of the Sydney summer craziness, I would suggest moving maybe 1 to 2 months before summer, around kinda June, July, August. You'll get a lease a lot easier.
