Hook
Day 133 of trying a new hobby to recover from burnout. This year I picked up a paintbrush for the first time in a decade and rediscovered a passion that's laid dormant since childhood. And so many of you resonated with my art and my story. But the ironic thing is, what started as a hobby once again became something that I placed pressure on myself to be good at. I started my first large scale art piece in May with the goal of finishing it in a month, but that turned into two, then four, and now it's still not finished. But instead of beating myself up about it, I'm learning that the more pressure you put on an outcome, the more you push it away. The beauty of art is that its value isn't dictated by timelines, opinions, or a purpose. Art is done for the sake of itself. And much like art, your worth isn't proven by your output, but by the fact that you are you.
