If you're a startup founder you should 100% use Claude Code to build your product. I'm going to give you five tips that got Claude working like a 10x engineer. I'm Pete, I own a software development agency in New York City and we work with startups and Fortune 500 companies to bring their products to market. In the last six weeks, all by myself, in my spare time I built my dream social network using Claude Code and people can't believe I did nearly everything with AI and here's how I did it. No. 1 get Claude to auto update your claude.md file. Add this line at the top now every new Claude session will start with perfect context. No. 2 use the clear command for fresh starts. It resets context, it saves tokens, it dumps legacy junk from your context window. I typically call clear when approaching the context limit rather than letting my session compact. So number three, speaking of compact, don't work too long in a compacted session. I'd say like one or two compacts max. So the compact command summarizes history and then creates a new context window with that summary and I've just found that after too many compacts in a row the quality starts to degrade. No. 4 always keep thinking mode on and use Ultrathink in your text whenever you need Claude to think really hard about something. It'll show up as a little rainbow. This forces Claude to deeply analyze your problem, delivering better results. And No. 5 use planning mode for new features and refactors. So planning mode outlines every step and sometimes ask clarifying questions. So to force it to ask clarifying questions add this to your claude.md file. It'll help catch assumptions you missed and prevent errors before Claude starts building.
