How I'd invest $1,000 as a beginner. I've built a six-figure stock portfolio at 22 years old, and if I had to start all over, these are the three stocks that I would buy. As a beginner, you want to keep things simple, so that means investing into ETFs or exchange-traded funds, which are essentially a big basket of stocks. First, I'd invest $300 into XEQT. This ETF holds over 10,000 companies around the world, giving you complete diversification. Second, I'd put $200 into ZQQ. This ETF tracks the Nasdaq 100, which means when you buy it, you're buying fractions of the 100 largest tech and growth companies in the US. Third, I'd put $500 into ZSP. This ETF tracks the S&P 500, which is considered to be the gold standard when it comes to investing. It holds 500 of the largest and most prominent companies in the US.
