if not you, then who?

The only difference between you and someone who has the life that you want is consistency and audacity. I saw this quote last year and it completely rewired my brain and how I approach everything. I need to read it to y'all exactly as is. "Everytime you hesitate, someone less talented takes your spot. The world rewards audacity, not potential." The number of conversations I've had with people where they're like, why does so and so have this? Why does so and so get to be in these spaces? Part of it may be that they have certain resources. They got a head start. There are also a lot of people who have the things that they need to get ahead and they're not doing shit about it. The people who do are the ones who have this unshakeable faith that they deserve everything they have. They go for every opportunity. They make every connection that they can. They are relentless about the things that they want. The day I saw that quote is the last time I asked why I didn't have something. Not only do you need to go harder and keep showing up even when you don't feel like it, you gotta demand from the universe and everybody around you that you deserve that shit. Think about that the next time you wanna say, why not me?
