What's going on in the tech sector? Why is it getting slaughtered today? And I know there's gonna be people out there talking about, well, corrections are normal. It is. But when you open up your portfolio and you see you're down six figures, what's going on? Well, my opinion. I think what happened was when AMD reported earnings, which were, of course, beat expectations, and everything is great. These stocks in tech, especially around and semiconductors and chips, are so priced to perfection that the slightest little thing that an analyst doesn't like will set the stock going down. Now, what happens is, okay, there's gonna be some. This morning, it wasn't that bad. You're down a little bit. You saw the news, whatever. But what happens is as this stocks. As the stocks start to collectively drop, as the entire sector did, or as, you know, is doing as we speak, you know, there's a lot of people that have, um, triggers like stock losses put in place. So once a stock low, drops to a certain level of price, people will have stop losses. Says, hey, if, let's say, AMD stock drops to $200 or whatever, then sell my shares. So what happens is when you have a big drop in stock so fast across the industry, everybody's stop losses are triggering and. And kicking in. Now, what does that do? It exacerbates the problem, right? So now you have more selling and people see it going down. There's more selling, there's more losses. They hit. And then you have the retail investor, us, you know, you and me, who panic because it's my life savings or whatever. I thought I was gonna make a quick buck. Um, they start panic selling. So man, and if you're in the tech industry, uh, investment area, look, let's be honest, it's been going sideways for quite some time. And let's talk about what do you do now if you're a long term investor? You just don't open your portfolio. Don't open Fidelity, don't open E*TRADE, whatever. Just don't even open it. Go do something else. And this is a time because I'm not selling, period. Um, what I do now is I use this time instead of checking my, my portfolio to see how much it's gone up. I use that time to actually start doing research and investing and like, what's next. So, yes, I know it sucks. Hopefully you're holding on and you didn't sell at a loss, because you know what happens. The rich get rich, the poor get poor. That's just the way the market works. It's gonna drop so far, everybody's and then the rich are gonna come in, buy it up at a lower price, and get richer. So be not a trader, and hold your stuff. Next video I'm gonna look at is talking about the, uh, SpaceX and XAI merger prior to the IPO. This is really interesting. And normally I'm not a Musk fan, and I haven't owned Tesla, but I'm kind of curious about what he's doing. So more to come on that. But be an investor, don't be a trader. Yesterday is bad. This probably whole week is gonna be bad. But over time, it's gonna go back up. Just be patient.
