I recently wrote this Substack article titled Everything is a win when the goal is experience. Now it really got me thinking because I'm 24 and I've noticed the two main topics of conversation with my friends is careers and love. Now I think the frequency of these discussions comes from a fear, a fear of making the wrong decision and living with regret. Comparing ourselves with what other people are doing, whether they're making more money or they're in the perfect relationship, which more often or not makes you feel behind or dissatisfied or stressed out. But this article reframed everything for me because the goal isn't about doing things right or doing things perfectly, the goal is experience. And that means getting things wrong, trying things and growing away from them or pursuing something new. And remember that you only see other people's highlights and what they're willing to share with you, whereas for yourself, you know everything about you, so you see all your flaws and mistakes. It's not comparable. When you look at life with this goal, nothing is wasted and only you get to decide what is regret and what is simply learning and living.
