Wu Wei is a concept from Taoist philosophy, which is an ancient Chinese way of seeing the world. I was first introduced to Taoism through my mom who follows a lot of these ideas. Wu Wei literally means 'non-doing', but it's not about doing nothing. It's more about not forcing things that aren't ready. We can use water flowing through a stream to understand this. Naturally, the stream will meet obstacles like rocks or fallen trees, and instead of fighting them, it finds a way around them. It adapts. In practice, that might look like knowing when to push on something and when to let it breathe, not forcing yourself to feel something that you don't, or acting from a place of calm and clarity rather than anxiety or ego. There's a difference between trying hard and forcing something. Action of course matters, but trust what's meant for you won't pass you by. The stream doesn't stop when it hits a rock, nor does it try to force its way through it. It just finds another way.
