If you’ve been putting off opening a Stocks & Shares ISA because you don’t know what to invest in yet… open one anyway. Every year you get a £20,000 ISA allowance across all of the ISAs. But if you don’t use it before the end of the tax year, you lose it forever. The Stocks & Shares ISA is arguably the best one, but most people delay opening one because they don’t know exactly what to invest in. And that’s fair, but that does mean your allowance is going to waste. So, what would I do? Money that you deposit into a Stocks & Shares ISA still counts towards your ISA allowance, even if it isn’t invested yet. So technically, you could open an account, deposit your money, and decide what to invest in later. Plus, there are some accounts that will even pay you an interest on cash that’s sat in your account and not invested yet. So at least you can get your money working for you while you decide what to invest it.
