I'm still at my new grad tech job and here's everything that happened in the span of a month that would send a regular person into a coma. The first week of 2026 I get a message from my manager asking me if I'm free and I say of course. She says do you wanna be put onto an AI team? It'll be really great experience and you'll learn a lot. But there's a caveat. You're gonna have to put in 150% if you're put onto this. I say you know what? Hell yeah, I have so much time in the day and of course I want to challenge. Who doesn't love a challenge? The day I say yes, I'm already on boarding till 8 PM. That was the beginning of the end for me. I start logging on at 8 in the morning and logging off at 12 in the morning and trying to find ways I can weasel in events after work hours. A few weeks later, I find out that I'm gonna be given a new responsibility within my company. I'm still trying to figure out how to manage my time with my already existing job. I'm totally down but I gotta figure my stuff out. My eyes are droopy, I'm waking up tired every single day. So I'm like, if I want this extra responsibility, I cannot be on the team that I'm currently on. Also, I came to the realization that I really did not care about having AI experience. How dare I? And I beg, I plead to be put back onto my old team. No joke, I was crying. One week later, I'm put back onto my old team and I get one extra responsibility. And then I'm on a flight within the same month. I get a crazy call from a Hollywood entertainment executive because he didn't like a video I posted. Eyroll. At the end of this month, I found myself working about 195 hours. I was still outside, still posting content, still trying to stay sane. I don't know how I did it.
