one week post op update laparoscopic surgery I was actually shocked at how quickly I was able to be scheduled for surgery. I had my initial appointment with my OBGYN on March 6th and I was able to schedule surgery for March 27th. I know some women wait years for this surgery and I don't have an explanation for that. Everyone warned me about the gas pains post surgery. It's not that I didn't believe anyone, I just didn't know what to expect but holy moly. The most painful thing was excruciating and the only cure is farting, which I can do. Gas-X, Simethicone 125 mg / Antigas, Relieves Gas Fast, Extra Strength. Miralax cocktail is a MUST. Everyone said to basically pre-game surgery with Miralax. I was too afraid that my bowels would unleash during surgery so I didn't. Come day four or five of recovery and I am getting absolutely wrecked by bowel cramping. Forget my incisions... this was hell. Apparently your bowels also go to sleep under anesthesia and now they are also waking up and they are raging. CO2 Gas -10000000/10. Fingers crossed this becomes a cool scar. I cried. Only words can describe what it look like. Big, bolbus. There was some bruising, lots of swelling, inflammation. Gas. A majority of that went down within seven days. It's just scary to see your body so traumatized after surgery. Anyway, drop some questions in the comments if you're curious about anything else. I am an open book.
