My husband made nearly $11,000 in one paycheck, sharing the biggest paycheck to date. His biggest paycheck to date. I'm going to break this paycheck down, show you where that money came from, also a screenshot you won't want to miss. Also, a quick disclaimer. Out of respect for my husband's privacy, I do not share anything about his career or his job. So get creative and use your imaginations. Starting with his base salary, he made $4,677.96. That is what we can expect every on every paycheck. He then had $142.12 pre tax, $543.14 pre tax, $877.12 pre tax of holiday pay. $2,923.72 pre tax of extended days. That just means he worked more days than he's usually scheduled to work. And finally, $8,343.60 pre tax of bonus pay. The unique thing about bonus pay specifically is that a percentage of the bonus pay immediately gets put into your 401k. All comes out to $17,507.66 gross pay. Now, $2,854.11 of that immediately comes out because that goes into the 401k. On top of that, there's about ~$5,000 of other benefits and deductions that get taken out as well. So that leaves us with $10,942.94 take home pay. That is a really great paycheck that does not happen every paycheck. Which is just a reminder that there are trade-offs for everything. Nearly $11,000 in one paycheck is crazy money for most people, but it is not without a major sacrifice. But it's just a season of life that we're in and we are making it work. Is it worth being away from home for 25 days? You tell me.
