Five days ago, I submitted my new iPhone app to the Apple Store for approval. Four days ago, it was rejected because the very first button didn't work. It was the sign in with Apple button and it didn't work because iPhone apps use different configurations for the release build versus the debugging build. Only been testing debugged builds and the release build was missing a core configuration that needed for signing in with Apple to work. Found a issue, got it fixed and submitted it again. Easy. Three days ago, the app got rejected again. This time I had a variety of issues. The first was that the app used sign in with Apple but asked for the user's name and onboarding. Because signing in with Apple provides the user's name already, it was an issue. Saw this, I fixed the onboarding screen to clarify this was a user's display name. Not their legal name return from signing in with app. Easy, dumb. The next issue was that my app preferred to paid features in the description. It says, I just had to add a sentence to the app description, letting users know that the app requires a pain subscription. Last three issues all had to do with the subscription. This was because the paywall page of my app didn't work because the subscriptions weren't approved by Apple. Additionally, I didn't include the terms of use in the app description. Apple does a really terrible job of telling you why your subscriptions aren't ready for approval. I got the issue was that I didn't sign a paid apps agreement in a completely random section of the site. I did that, updated the app description with the and submitted. Finally, two days ago, my app got rejected again. By clarifying in the review notes in the onboarding screen that this was a display name, not the user's real name. Apple did not care and it was still rejected for the same reason asking the user for their name in the onboarding flow. I ended up removing the text box all together. Just let users edit their name from their profile later on.
