These are the brand deals I've signed in the past month and I'm going to walk you through how to get brand deals, how to know what kind of deals to accept. Just basically tell you everything I know. I'm ready for work, so I'm going to try and keep this snappy. I want to disclose that I'm represented by a talent management agency, which means I pay a percentage of my brand deals to a team of people who pitch me and my content to brands. It's an absolute game changer in signing with management is a great goal to have for yourself. Agencies need you to show that you're consistently getting brand deals on your own in order to sign with you. They do not just let anybody sign up for this service unless you need to know that your page is already set up to land brands and that brands are already interested in working with you. Now that we've got all the disclaimers out of the way, first I want to say that brands will work with creators of literally any size. Now, yes, obviously having a bigger following, having higher engagement is going to increase your chances of being able to land brand deals. But there's no certain number of followers that you have to hit in order to start brand getting brand deals. The industry standard right now is about $100 per thousand followers that you can charge a brand to do an feed dedicated ads. If you have 10,000 followers, your base rate for a brand deal should be around $1,000. Brands at this point in time are getting inundated with creators reaching out to them via DM and email. Strategic pitch. I highly recommend keeping your pitch short and simple to the point and don't just include your social media handle, include a link to a specific video of yours where the brand that you're pitching to can visualize their product in one of your videos. So if I were you and I were doing my own pitching, I would have some sort of spreadsheet or tracking tool to keep a log of all the brands that I've pitched to and create reminders for yourself to follow up every two or three weeks with those brands. Brands are getting inundated with creators in their inbox. Keep top of mind for them and showing persistence. I think is a great thing. Setting up your page to land brand deals. I don't want to be pitching yourself to brands until you're at a place where you would be so proud for a brand to come look through your content. You want a brand to land on your page and within the first three scrolls, know exactly the type of audience you attract, be consistent and some familiarity on your page, meaning that you are consistently talking about similar topics and consistent formats on your page that your audience looks forward to. Signature series are also definitely something that brands look for. For example, there are a handful of food and beverage brands that I've worked with that specifically have asked me to incorporate or implement their product or service into what I eat in a day as a 9 to 5 girl. Having series on your page that specifically implement services or stores. That's a smart move. I've talked about this in a long time, but talking head creators have a hard time landing brand deals. Every single one of their videos is just them talking to the camera. And although that is a great strategy for growth, it is not necessarily the best strategy for monetization standpoint. If you're just sitting talking in every single video, showing products that you use, services that you love, there's going to be no room for a brand to see themselves fitting into your organic content. That is why almost every single coaching call I have with people, one of my recommendations for them is to incorporate a vlog or a day in the lifestyle pillar. I talked about this yesterday, but 10% of your content should be relatable content, sharing your real life, your real recommendations. Everybody uses products. You wake up and get ready for work in the morning. I guarantee you touch 30 different brands and products throughout your morning routine. And sharing that more personal layer with your following is so important. Not only because it builds connection with your audience, but because it sets you up well to monetize. Some other tidbits. Create content for a brand for free. Or in exchange for some $30 trinket. The answer to that email is I do not work for free. I don't care how small the creator you are, not using brands for free. That is just some big sister advice. If you are questioning whether or not a brand email is legit or not, their email address should be at company name. It will almost never be from a Gmail account. Secondly, you can go look up that person on LinkedIn and see if they actually work for that company. Now, a lot of brands will hire to go find creators for them. So if you get an email from a different company that is saying that they are representing brand X, that's not necessarily a red flag. It might just mean that the brand hired a company to go search for creators for them. Look on LinkedIn, see if they're legit. A great response to any email or DM you get asking about a gifted collab. If you are going to move forward with working with a brand, make sure that when they send over the terms, if they're baking in any sort of paid usage or exclusivity into the brand deal, you need to be charging extra for that. If they want to boost your content and put marketing dollars behind it, they are going to be making more revenue from your content, which means they need to be paying you an extra fee. This is a good starting point for how much you should be charging for each of those things. Personally, I have never had or utilized a media kit or a brand kit. I think letting your content speak for itself, keeping your email and outreach super simple and sharing specific actual videos that are relevant to the brand that you're pitching to is the secret sauce. You do not need a certain follower account to land brand deals. There are brands out there that want to work with every size of creator, especially if you have an engaged audience and your views are pretty consistent and you always have people in your comment section. And you have a specific structure and format that your audience looks forward to, brands are going to want to work with you. It's just a matter of taking the time to pitch yourself to those brands and knowing how much to charge so that you are compensated fairly. Always ask me comments. I'm heading to work. Love you guys.
