This is the richest family in Britain. They're Indian... in Britain. They're Indian... and they're worth over £38 billion. Meet the Hinduja family. Their story started over 100 years ago. Back in 1914, Parmanand Hinduja was trading carpets, tea and spices between India and Iran. Then his four sons took over and turned the business into a global powerhouse operating across 48 countries. Big money came through acquisitions. In 1984, they brought Gulf Oil International in 1987, Ashok Leyland, India's biggest vehicle manufacturers. Then banking... launching IndusInd Bank as India's economy exploded in the 1990s. The family was forced to flee Iran during the 1979 revolution and moved their entire headquarters to London. That decision helped transform them into Britain's richest dynasty. Today, the Hinduja Group employs more than 250,000 people worldwide and their London assets are insane. They bought a historic Old War Office building for around £212 million and transformed it into Luxury Raffles London Hotel. The family also owns a £300 million mansion overlooking St. James's Park. For years, the empire was led by brothers Srichand and Gopichand Hinduja. But after Srichand died in 2023... and Gopichand passed away in 2025... leadership shifted to the next generation, including London-based brothers Sanjiv and Dheeraj Hinduja. More than a century after starting as spice traders, the Hinduja's now control one of the biggest family fortunes on Earth.
