This self taught makeup artist borrowed 20,000 from her grandmother and turned it into a 100 million pound cosmetics empire. Meet Paige Louise. She grew up on a council estate in Manchester and dropped out of college with no qualifications. She got a job working at a Mac makeup counter where she became obsessed with understanding what customers actually wanted from makeup. Then at 21, she took a huge risk. Her grandmother who worked as a cleaner borrowed 20,000 pounds against her mortgage. So Page could open a tiny makeup salon, but the lunch flop. Hardly anyone showed up. Page and had to sell her car to keep the business alive. So she changed strategy. Instead of focusing on salon clients, she started offering online makeup courses for just 10 pounds, thousands joined. During those classes, she noticed a problem. Most beauty products were expensive and didn't actually perform well. So in 2018, she launched her own product, roller base, an eyeshadow primer designed to work across different skin tones and textures. It went viral, and that one product transformed the business. Soon, P Louis expanded into lip gloss, skin care and body care, growing to more than 1,000 products. But the Real growth came from Tok. Page turned live stream shopping into entertainment. The brand broke records after making 1.5 million pounds in just 12 hours on Tok live. Today, P Luis sells over 250,000 products a month through Tok shop alone. In the last financial year, the company generated 71 million pounds in revenue and now P Luis is projected to generate over 100 million pounds a year without taking outside investment.
