Here’s how you can get a $50k limit on your Amex cobalt 🇨🇦 Only request a higher amount if your responsible with your credit! #creditcard #amexcobalt #financetok #PersonalFinance #finance I've had an Amex Cobalt since about 2023 and in two years I was able to increase my limit to $50,000. When I first started, I think my limit was around $10,000 and back then to request a credit limit increase you actually had to call them. One of the good parts about having a higher credit limit is that you're lowering your credit utilization rate. You usually want to keep this under 30%. You are going to need the American Express app to do this. When you log in, go to profile and then click manage your credit limit. When you're on this page, you'll see your current credit limit and available credit. And then you just type in the new credit limit that you want. They'll show the current one and available credit you have. And then you just type in a number you want. I do think they hard cap at 50k, as you can see I can't go any higher than the amount that I have. Now this feature they added in the app where you could request a limit increase inside the app is new. Before you had to call in and ask them. Typically what I would do is ask for three times the amount that I had. So when I first started, I had a $10,000 credit limit and I would ask for $30,000. They usually give you an offer such as $20,000 or $25,000. And then I requested it again six months later for $50k and I got it. The good part about requesting credit limit increases inside your American Express account is that it does not affect your credit score at all. They do not do a hard check.
