I worked at American Express this summer. If you're a student looking to get a credit card, I would highly recommend the Amex Cobalt. You get 5x the points on groceries as well as dining out. And that alone makes it worth it because you're able to use your Amex points for a lot of different things. Yes, there is an annual fee attached to this card, but there is no other card that has the same multipliers that this one does and gives points that are as useful as Amex points. I honestly recommend this card to anyone that is in university. You're going to be eating out a lot, as no one really wants to cook after studying for exams. On top of that, you also get free insurance, a lot of other things that are just associated with getting this card. I went to London recently and my flight got delayed, and then so because of that, I got a whole bunch of free food credit that I was able to reimburse. I bought this phone using my Amex Cobalt and once again that gives me free insurance so I didn't have to get AppleCare. If you have any other questions about the different cards that Amex has, feel free to let me know. I would probably know about it.
