I worked at American Express last summer and as a college student, here's why I still think the Cobalt is still worth it after the fee increase. For those that don't know, the monthly fee of the Cobalt increased from $13 to $16. But that still means that if you're spending money on food every single month, more than $320, more than $320 on food every single month, you're going to be making more money than the $16 every single month is charging you. The Cobalt card has that not people know about, the $60 Instacart credit that you get every single year as a student. I use Instacart pretty often because I hate grocery shopping and the Cobalt gives you 5x the amount of points when you're spending money on Instacart anyways. Plus on top of that, I Uber Eats like every other day and the Cobalt gives me 5x on all my Uber Eats purchases. Because of this, I think the Cobalt card is really, really great for most university students because you're spending so much money on takeout as well as food delivery. So you might as well get points while you're also keep in mentioning any of the other multipliers that the Cobalt has, streaming subscriptions, as well as access to other AMEX benefits, of the line, as well as insurance. So if you're thinking about getting this as your sign.
