So I had this idea for a game, but my perfectionism was keeping me from testing the idea. So I switched to ChatGPT and started brainstorming. Not for final assets, but just enough to make the game feel real, so I could see if it was actually any fun. I added a picture of some messy notes and we got to work mapping out the core game loop. And initially I was thinking the theme would be cute cats. But then I was like, well, what about ants? ChatGPT laid out the pros and the cons, and then I visualized both with images 2.0. The ants were cool, but the cats were just too cute not to do. Fast forward 90 questions later and we had a detailed game design document, which I visualized one more time. Now at that point I could have kept prompting until that image looked perfect, but I'm just using this for inspiration. So it was time to design. The layout felt way more intuitive, but the gray boxes were not the vibe. See me and ChatGPT had mapped out some starter content as well. 10 cats, 10 coins, and 10 coin variations. So I took those and had it make sprites for the cats in a more hand-drawn style, which is what I'm going to make it look like when I go illustrate it myself. I did the same thing for the coins as well, and it looked great. But like I said, I'm going to illustrate them my way. So I wanted to make sure my art style was going to fit. And look how awesome it feels. Now I've got a prototype, I've stress tested the art style, and man it's looking so good. I think it's time to jump into Codex so I can start testing the game loop.
